Curriculum for Excellence
The Scottish Government’s “Curriculum for Excellence” is based on the four values of:
Wisdom, Justice, Compassion and Integrity
The curriculum aims to provide children with opportunities to become:
- Confident Individuals
- Effective Contributors
- Responsible Citizens
- Successful Learners
This framework enables staff to provide a balanced and broad range of activities which are carefully planned to meet the developmental and learning needs of each child.
Staff and children meet regularly to review and plan the broad curriculum and to plan experiences and activities.
There are seven principles on which Curriculum for Excellence is designed and should shape how we deliver our experiences with children:
- Challenge and enjoyment
- Breadth
- Progression
- Depth
- Personalisation and choice
- Coherence
- Relevance.
At anytime you can discuss the curriculum with your child’s Key worker.
